Mr. Michaelsen has more than 30 years of service for FPInnovations in transportation and energy efficiency related work. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from UNB in 1982. Membre of the Ordre des Ingénieurs Forestiers du Québec. He has been a research advisor for the Transportation and Infrastructure Group since 2018. He works in concert with a group of 23 researchers and technicians who work towards improving transport operational efficiency, road construction and maintenance, energy efficiency, trucking safety, and maintenance practices in both on road trucking and forest operations. His experience covers many areas including log transport system management and organization, energy efficiency of transport and off-road operations, driver training, load securement, log trailer design, truck specifications, and off-highway trucking.
